In the early days of my life, I had a passion to absorb as much as I could about music. I learned to play guitar at the age of six by slowing down my record player to half speed and copping my favorite riffs. I spent my early life asking “how did they play that, or get that sound, or come up with that part?”
By the time I was in high school I was teaching guitar, and studying every aspect of music, which has landed me here.
A native of Portland Oregon, I have had the good fortune to be in the same room with some of the best songwriters, engineers’ and producers in the music industry. I met Scott and Caryl Parker and auditioned for the guitar player spot in the Carl Mack band. Fast forward a couple years and we have a publishing deal with Warner Chappel to write and demo songs.
I have sat with Jeff Silbar and listened to him talk about writing “Wind beneath my wings” as Scott, Caryl and I along with Mathew Gary wrote “I’ll be the one“.
I have had the pleasure of listening to the great Earl Slick shred guitar as he demoed some tracks up at my studio and talked about his experience recording with John Lennon and David Bowie.
I spent a great deal of time annoying Brian David Willis, who has the best ears in the world, trying to gather as much information as I could while watching him work his editing and mixing magic.
I’ve spent time with Keith Thomas (Amy Grant, Reba McEntire) after he signed Savannah Outen to his company, Levosia, producing and mixing the song “Goodbye”.
Saeeda Wright (Prince) and Natasha Neuscwander (The Voice ) have blessed me with their talents by singing my songs that are in use world wide.
Through those and many other musical experiences, I have developed a pretty good skill set to help others bring their creative ideas to light.
I don’t go into a music session with a pre conceived notion, because everyone and every person is unique. As a producer, I try and bring whatever I can to the table by listening to the client and bringing their vision for music into existence, just as you hear it in your head.
I work to be the collaborator and music producer who can take your project to a whole new level, while having a good time doing it. I look forward to hearing your music…
